| 1. Go to our homepage and enter the keyword(s) for the type of image you're searching for. | ||||||

| Use AND, WITH, a comma or a space to separate key words | ||||||
| When searching with multiple keywords, you can use ‘and’, ‘with’ or a comma or a space to separate multiple keywords. | ||||||
| For example: "man with bald head” “boy and dog” “woman success” “girl, dance” |

| Additional suggestions to help locate images that match your ideas: | ||||||

| 1. Search by concept -- Concepts are ideas that describe the message of the image. Examples include romance, freedom, good news, success and teamwork. Many images are assigned multiple concepts. Images are also categorized under various subjects, such as Beauty and Health, Achievement, Lifestyles, Technology and Vacations. | ||||||
| 2. Search by subject -- Search with nouns that identify the main subject of an image, e.g., exercise or dreads; adjectives that describe the nouns, e.g., shiny or red; verbs that describe the main action in an image, e.g., running or laughing; age groups for person or people, e.g., baby, child, mid adult; and locations, e.g., cities (New York), countries (Dominican Republic) and specific locations (Caribbean). | ||||||
| 3. Search by style -- Search by style to receive results that use specific photographic techniques, such as high angle, profile, studio shot or wide angle.’ Other style searches include: | ||||||

| 4. Search by photographer -- To locate a photograph, or a series of photographs, associated with a photographer, type the photographer’s name in the search box. | ||||||

| 5. Search by age, sex and ethnic group -- This will guide you in locating the right person in the right setting. For example, if you're searching for a Hispanic woman jumping on beach, you could enter: "Hispanic and mid adult woman and jumping and beach" as your search criteria. | ||||||

| 6. Search for similar images -- To search for images related to your initial search words, use the ‘Search For Similar Images’ feature found on the Image Details page for each image. For example, if you look in the ‘Search For Similar Images’ section of image number W00570, you will see keywords such as woman, jumping, agility, celebration, mid-air and color-image. You can choose keywords from the list to narrow your search for a specific photo by selecting checkboxes next to each keyword. Click 'Search', and additional images that are related to your initial search term will result. | ||||||
| 7. Searching by image number --To quickly locate a particular image, you may enter the image number into the search box. To enter more than one image number at a time, separate each number with a space, comma or the word ‘and’ and CHANGE “ALL” to “ANY” in the field shown. For example: New Search: ANY dksdt2494 and CU00225 Letters appearing in an image number ('ew', 'bt', 'ck', dks, etc.) may be entered as caps or lowercase. |

| Search results The default number of images displayed per page is 21. Search results can be reset to any amount of images you select up to 60 images per page. If your search yields multiple pages of images, you'll find page numbers at the bottom of each page. Click any page number and be taken to another page of images. Or, scroll through these pages by clicking the arrows at the top of the page. Or, type the number of the page you want to view in the box provided and click 'Go'. |
